Real engineering excellence

F1 and Aramco

As a Global Partner with F1, we share a commitment to driving real-world progress through engineering excellence that results in lower emissions, enhanced performance and expanded human potential.

For 70 years, F1 has been at the forefront of automotive engineering – accelerating innovation on and off the track. Through our sponsorship, we will combine our relentless energy and engineering excellence to drive real-world progress. Together, we believe a more sustainable and intelligent future is closer than ever.

With this shared pioneering spirit, Aramco and F1 are committed to a more efficient and sustainable sport, society, and planet.

Future fuels

Aramco is at the cutting edge of fuels research to develop better performing, lower emitting fuels to drive both motorsport and everyday transport. By combining fuels advancement with engine design, greater levels of efficiency are possible to power the cars of tomorrow.

Safety and innovation

Safety is at the heart of everything we do in our operations, as it is in every aspect of F1 racing.  Both F1 and Aramco leverage Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies to capture data, innovate systems, and deploy controls that deliver performance in a safe and sustainable way.

Carbon capture

As F1 powers towards their goal of being carbon neutral by 2030, Aramco is advancing its milestones in carbon capture. Already proven techniques in capturing carbon before it becomes emissions creates opportunities for reducing impact, both on the track and on the road.

Sustainability

F1 has committed to bold sustainability goals over the next decade. Aramco is proud to be collaborating with F1 to help shape what's possible in the F1 cars of the future, to ensure optimal performance, exciting racing and the most sustainable impact.

Internal combustion engine

Aramco is carrying out cutting-edge research and development with the potential to transform the internal combustion engine (ICE), while it remains the go-to engine for powering world's transportation fleet. At the same time, the race continues for developing a more efficient ICE for future F1 seasons.

Non-metallic

The use of non-metallics, such as carbon fiber, has been critical to F1's success. Aramco has been leading the charge in the development and deployment of non-metallics in its own industry. Advancing non-metallics will drive enhanced efficiency both on-track and across transport through light-weighting and enhanced performance.

Big data

The engineering and performance of F1 cars, drivers, and teams relies heavily on the analysis of millions of data points. The same analysis is helping Aramco improve performance and uncover insights on a grand scale, from reservoir modelling to production forecasting.

Citizenship

The engineering excellence in F1 is an example of the very best of human potential. Aramco invests in its communities to promote learning in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). We are the title sponsor of the F1 In Schools championship, where competitors from around the globe compete in engineering their own model racers, developing STEM skills and encouraging future generations of technical specialists.
