Aramco President and CEO Amin Nasser met with Zheng Shanjie, chairman of National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), to discuss ways for closer energy cooperation on the sideline of the China Development Forum at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse on March 24.

Zheng noted that the Chinese government in recent years has ramped up support to open up its market and came up for a raft of policies to stabilize foreign investment. NDRC hoped to work with Saudi Arabia to strategically synergize the "Belt and Road" Initiative and the “Vision 2030”, support Aramco and other Saudi companies to collaborate on commercial principles with Chinese companies in the energy sector and continue to expand investment in China, jointly promote the comprehensive strategic partnership and practical cooperation in various fields for greater development, mutual benefit and win-win results.
Nasser noted that Chinese economy has withstood risks and challenges both home and abroad and showed strong signs of recovery in 2023. Aramco has attached great importance to the Chinese market and optimistic about the prospect. Aramco will consider more investment in China and hope to further explore the Chinese market. Aramco also expects to strengthen communication with NDRC and push Saudi-China cooperation to a new level.
