Aramco affirms confidence in China’s Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area

In his keynote speech, Senior Vice President Faisal M. Al Faqeer highlighted Aramco’s growing presence in the region through its chemical subsidiary SABIC, and stressed the opportunities for collaborations across energy, petrochemicals, advanced materials and investment.

Aramco has expressed its intention to continue engagement with China’s Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) as Senior Vice President Faisal M. Al Faqeer expressed strong confidence in the region’s economic outlook at a major investment conference in Guangzhou on November 3. 

In his keynote speech, Al Faqeer underlined Aramco’s growing presence in the region through its chemical subsidiary SABIC, and stressed the opportunities for collaborations across energy, petrochemicals, advanced materials and investment. 

“As a long-term investor, Aramco remains confident in the positive outlook for Guangdong, particularly given its internationalized business environment and future-oriented industries,” he noted. “We are actively discussing with local partners to turn our vision into reality, which will not only support the high-quality development of this dynamic region, but also reinforce the strategic alignment of China’s “Belt and Road” Initiative and Saudi Vision 2030.”

Al Faqeer, who was invited as a guest of honor, took part in a high-level business roundtable hosted by the Governor of Guangdong, and held talks with provincial and municipal leaders on opportunities for deeper industrial and technological cooperation.

 

Al Faqeer’s visit included a tour of the SABIC Nansha Plant in Guangzhou, a major petrochemicals facility in the region. Nader Al Arfaj, China Managing Director, joined the visit.

The onsite tour allowed the visiting delegation to better understand the plant’s operations and innovation, further reinforcing Aramco’s commitment to deepening its cooperation with local partners in the GBA.

Themed “Invest in the Greater Bay Area, Build a Bright Future Together”, the conference attracted more than 450 business delegates, including senior executives from 63 multinational companies.
