Aramco China Managing Director visits Peking University to advance collaboration

On June 23, a delegation from Aramco Asia, led by Nader Al-Arfaj, Aramco China Managing Director, visited Peking University (PKU), one of China's most prestigious institutions of higher education. The delegation met with PKU Vice President Fang Fang to explore pathways to deepen collaboration in research and innovation, talent development and social impact initiatives, etc.

Accompanying Al-Arfaj were Ahmed Alessa, Vice President of Human Resources; Bader G. Al-Harbi, Vice President of Research & Development; Becky Wang, Vice President of Strategic Relations & Policy Research; and Yousef Al-Mutairi, Vice President of Public Affairs.

PKU Vice President Fang Fang warmly welcomed the delegation and provided an overview of PKU’s history and recent developments. He highlighted the solid foundation of partnership between PKU and Aramco, noting the fruitful outcomes achieved through previous exchanges. He expressed hope that this visit would serve as a catalyst to further deepen pragmatic cooperation in research and talent development, thereby contributing to the broader China-Saudi strategic partnership.

Al-Arfaj conveyed appreciation for the reception and outlined Aramco’s growing presence and roadmap in China. He reaffirmed Aramco’s commitment to strengthening ties with PKU, particularly in areas such as R&D collaboration, talent development and social impact initiatives, aiming to enrich the partnership with more substantive achievements.

The visit concluded with a tour of the King Abdulaziz Public Library Branch in Peking University, where the delegation gained an immersive view of the profound cultural exchange between the two nations.
