Aramco highlights deepening cooperation in Liaoning at 7th China Liaoning International Fair for Investment and Trade

At the 7th China Liaoning International Fair for Investment and Trade, Aramco China Managing Director Nader Al-Arfaj delivered a keynote speech, reviewing the partnership between Aramco and China and outlining a broad vision for deepening cooperation and shared prosperity in Liaoning province.

Al-Arfaj noted that this year marks the 35th anniversary of Aramco's first crude oil shipment to China. Over the decades, the partnership has evolved from a traditional energy partnership into a comprehensive strategic relationship spanning energy, chemicals, investment, innovation, and community development. Among all the provinces where Aramco operates and invests, Liaoning holds a special and significant position. 

Al-Arfaj highlighted this partnership is reaching a historic milestone in Liaoning. The Huajin Aramco Petrochemical Company (HAPCO), a world-scale integrated refining and petrochemical complex jointly developed by Aramco, NORINCO Group, and Panjin Xincheng Industrial Group, stands as one of the most significant China-Saudi industrial cooperation projects to date. Following years of close collaboration, HAPCO has now officially entered its commissioning phase. Most notably, in early October, thirty-five years after Aramco's first shipment of crude oil to China, the arrival of the first Aramco crude cargo for HAPCO, symbolizes the historic evolution of the partnership from energy trade to industrial integration, shared investment, and common prosperity.

Beyond industrial investment, Al-Arfaj also outlined Aramco’s commitment to social responsibility in Liaoning. Through initiatives such as the Children Benefit Project, Aramco Asia Hope School program, peach tree planting program, and the "Shoot for the Future" basketball court revamp with the Yao Foundation, Aramco supports children's education, local farmers' livelihoods, and youth opportunities.

Looking ahead,  Al-Arfaj expressed confidence in Aramco’s collaboration with Liaoning. “Aramco believes there are significant opportunities to deepen cooperation in refining and chemicals, advanced materials, innovation, technology, and talent development. As a company that thinks in decades, not quarters, we are committed to being a long-term partner in Liaoning's continued growth and revival, ” He concluded. 

The Liaoning International Fair for Investment and Trade is a flagship economic and trade platform to drive Liaoning’s opening-up and cooperation. Under the theme “New Drivers from Opening-up, New Chapter of Revitalization,” this year’s event attracted nearly 3,000 delegates from more than 50 countries and regions.
