Aramco Asia Energy Cup

Our Initiatives in China

The “Aramco Asia Energy Cup” was organized in 2017 with Enactus to support the next generation of entrepreneurs in the Asia Pacific region by providing them with the resources and expertise they need to develop innovative solutions. The program reached over 199,000 graduate and postgraduate students from 380 universities in China, Singapore, South Korea, Malaysia, and the Philippines, and helped them find innovative solutions to the environment and sustainability challenges.

Under the theme of “Sustainability for Energy, Environment, and Climate Change”, the program was divided into three parts under an integrated framework. Project A, “Innovative Solution”, was designed to empower undergraduate students in the Asia-Pacific region to develop projects that are conducive to innovation and sustainability for energy, environment and ecology issues. Project B, “Techno Quests”, which was led by our Beijing Research Center (BRC), engaged postgraduate students in China to initiate research studies to apply new technologies and solutions in three of BRC's main areas of research — reservoir engineering, geophysics and geology. Project C, the “Aramco Asia Energy Cup Asia-Pacific Competition”, brought the winning teams of the five participating countries in Project A to Beijing for the final round.

After one-year intense competition, winners from regional qualifiers gathered in Beijing in November 2017 for the final round, which attracted more than 150 graduate students, academic advisors and industry experts.
