Aramco Asia Launches High-Potential Talent Development Program for Shanghai Branch, Reinforcing Commitment to China’s Talent Ecosystem

As part of its 2025 in-house training strategy, Aramco Asia has launched its first high-potential talent development program in Shanghai, a landmark initiative that underscores the company’s long-term commitment to nurturing future leaders and investing in the local talent ecosystem.
With seven outstanding employees nominated to participate, this initiative reflects Aramco’s broader strategy to empower people, foster innovation, and support sustainable growth in key international markets. In China, where Aramco continues to expand its footprint, talent development is a cornerstone of its partnership with the local economy.
Tailored Learning for Future Leaders
Designed to accelerate career progression, broaden global perspectives, and prepare participants for future leadership roles, the program offers a customized learning experience aligned with Aramco’s leadership development framework consisting of assessment, empowerment and solidification. Through targeted evaluation, practical skill-building, and sustained learning support, the program aims to foster long-term growth and impact among emerging leaders.
The program includes:
- Two days of intensive training (August 7–8)
- Two weeks of hands-on experience
- One-on-one coaching sessions
- A half-day group workshop following the award ceremony
Leadership Support and Engagement
The program was opened by Mohammed A Humaidi, Head of the Shanghai branch, who emphasized the rigorous selection process and the importance of leadership development. “We believe these individuals have the potential to become future leaders. Through this program, we hope they will enhance their leadership and problem-solving skills,” he said.

Participants engaged enthusiastically in classroom instruction and group exercises, gaining valuable insights into leadership dynamics, strategic thinking, and collaborative problem-solving.
Culmination and Recognition
The program concluded with an award ceremony on August 22, attended by Jamal Alenazy, the new Head of the Shanghai branch, and Ahmed Alessa, Aramco Asia Vice President of Human Resources. In his remarks, Jamal Alenazy shared his perspective on the program’s impact:“The program provided practical insights into different aspects of leadership challenges and situations. The employees who participated will use the knowledge they gained to enhance their performance and contribute meaningfully to Aramco Asia.”
