Initiating Global Innovation, Co-building an Industrial Future | Tsinghua Global Industrial Innovation Master's Program officially sets sail

Recently, the Tsinghua Global Industrial Innovation Master's Program officially launched, with the first cohort of 40 international students commencing their learning journey at Tsinghua Campus.

To adapt to global industrial transformation and serve the national strategy of high-level opening-up, the School of Economics and Management (SEM) of Tsinghua University has established a part-time MBA program—the Global Industrial Innovation Master's Program. Grounded in industrial innovation practices, the program cultivates future business leaders who understand China's development practices, possess a global vision, and can participate in cross-border industrial collaboration. The program actively explores new models of China-global educational exchange and industry-education integration, builds a dialogue platform between Chinese and international industries, and provides talent support for advancing global industrial cooperation.

Leveraging Tsinghua University's multi-disciplinary advantages, the program is based on MBA core courses, integrating the excellent traditional Chinese culture with theoretical and practical insights of modern industrial development. Through distinctive modules such as Chinese economic practice, industrial innovation, and cross-border business cooperation, it embeds frontline practices of China's industrial upgrading and technological innovation into the entire teaching process, helping students build diverse thinking frameworks and grasp the underlying logic of industrial development in different markets.

The first cohort exhibits outstanding internationalization and diversity, with a male-to-female ratio of approximately 2:1, and over 50% of students holding undergraduate degrees from renowned international universities. Their professional backgrounds are diverse, covering engineering technology, project management, production operations, supply chain and procurement, human resources, innovation R&D, government affairs, information technology, and other business segments, gathering practical managers from various functional lines.

After registration, the program held a welcome ceremony for new students at the Tsinghua University Art Museum. Representatives from strategic partner Saudi Aramco—Nader Al-Arfaj, Aramco China Managing Director; Ahmed Alessa, Vice President of Human Resources at Aramco Asia; and Abdullah AlHathloul, Director of Aramco Asia Training and Talent Development—attended the event.

Academic Director Xiao Yongbo shared the program's original design intent and core philosophy. Student representative Yasir Sheyab (Shen Yase, B.Eng. from China University of Petroleum) spoke on behalf of all new students. At the ceremony, Tsinghua SEM’s Associate Dean Li Donghong presented the class flag to student representative Shen Yase, officially announcing the establishment of Tsinghua MBA Class 2026A.

After the official start of the first teaching module, students devoted themselves to intensive coursework and participated in orientation activities, fully interacting with students from other Tsinghua MBA programs, experiencing the Tsinghua spirit, understanding Chinese management practices, and immersing themselves in Chinese culture.

In the future, the Tsinghua MBA program will continue to deepen its path of internationalization, industrialization, and specialization, continuously optimizing its curriculum and cultivation model, deepening industry-education integration and joint talent cultivation with strategic partners. It will persist in cultivating high-end industrial management talents with profound China knowledge, broad global vision, and excellent innovation capabilities, providing support for innovation synergies across Chinese and international industries and high-quality economic and trade exchanges, and promoting pragmatic cooperation between Chinese and foreign industries and educational fields.
