Aramco Asia’s “Children Benefit Program” continues promotion of health, well-being for Chinese children

More than 200 children benefited from the latest medical trip to Liaoning

Aramco Asia supported recently a two-day mission by a team of 22 medical professionals to provide basic healthcare for local children in Panshan County, Panjin City, northeast China’s Liaoning province on September 27.

Panjin, where this donation project has visited twice in order to benefit the adjacent communities, is also home to Aramco Asia’s joint refining & petrochemical project with Norinco.

This trip is one of a serial medical trips that are part of Aramco Asia’s “Children Benefit Program”, jointly organized by Aramco Asia, Ifeng News and China Charities Aid Foundation for Children (CCAFC).

The medical team members, most of them volunteer doctors, came from Beijing Capital Institute of Pediatrics, Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Beijing Chuiyangliu Hospital affiliated to Tsinghua University.

“This program is part of our commitment to local communities where we operate. We are proud of our partnership with Ifeng News and China Charities Aid Foundation for Children (CCAFC) to provide basic support to medical care for underprivileged children and contribute to the welfare of local communities” Fahad Al Othman, Aramco Asia’s China Country Manager, noted one day before the event.

Free access to basic healthcare

This two-day medical mission benefited 233 students from grade one to six at Beizheng Elementary/Middle School. General blood tests and body screening checks were given to the children for potential internal & surgical, ophthalmic, E.N.T., and dental problems. Cardiac and abdominal ultrasonography was also given to those who have been diagnosed with potentially severe health conditions. After the examination, personal healthcare records were established so that follow-up treatment plans would be provided.

As part of the donation program, a clinic room was set up in Beizheng School with equipment including a computer, a printer, basic medical devices as well as some common medicines.

As Xiaoyao said in her speech representing the students, “We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the doctors for helping us grow up with healthier bodies and minds. We pledge to study harder so that we can contribute and give back to the society.”

Children Benefit: Charity program to benefit the community

The “Children Benefit Program” is designed to assist children living in the impoverished regions with all the necessary supports like basic healthcare, education and mental health. The program also aims to draw the attention of the public and call for the whole society to contribute to these significant endeavors.

Aramco Asia has been supporting the “Children Benefit Project” for two consecutive years since 2018. Through cooperation with charity organizations such as Ifeng News and CCAFC, Aramco Asia will continue to provide support to essential health care, improve the environmental health and safety of the communities, enhance education opportunities, and promote energy sustainability through conservation and efficiency efforts.

Previously, the project has also laid footprints to Sichuan, Hebei, Guizhou, Yunnan, Fujian, Jiangxi, Gansu, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Tibet Autonomous Region.
