The MoU aims to strengthen cooperation in liquids-to-chemicals projects, crude oil storage, supply chain management, and talent development.
Saleh Al Zaid, Aramco Asia President & CEO, said: “This MoU builds on the strong relationship between Aramco and China, where we seek to further contribute to the country’s energy security and development through strategic crude storage and downstream activities. We continue to explore new opportunities and are proud to have already established such strong links with Fujian. This MoU has potential to support our further expansion, as well as the delivery of quality services in a high-growth market.”
Fujian is the home to Aramco’s first two joint ventures (JVs) in China, the Fujian Refining and Petrochemical Company Ltd. and Sinopec SenMei (Fujian) Petroleum Company Limited, which both began operating in 2007. The two JVs have played active roles in responding to the province’s growing need for fuels and chemical products, contributing to strong economic growth.
