Managing Director of Aramco in China, presents trophy to winners of Shenzhen ATS

Nader Al-Arfaj, managing director (China) of Aramco Asia, joined the winners for a group photo at the awarding ceremony of Aramco Team Series fourth Round at Mission Hills Resort in Shenzhen.

Nader Al-Arfaj, managing director of Aramco China, attended the Aramco Team Series (ATS) at Mission Hills Resort in Shenzhen, south China’s Guangdong province from October 4 to 6, 2024. The event marked the first ever ATS to be held on the Chinese mainland.

Presented by Public Investment Fund and sponsored by Aramco, the ATS Shenzhen edition was the fourth round of the 2024 series, bringing together 28 teams in an exhilarating competition format over two days. Additionally, a three-day individual stroke-play competition saw players battle for the individual title.

China’s top talents and formidable Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) players, including Ruoning Yin, Xiyu Lin, Alison Lee, Muni He, and Angel Yin, converged at the fourth round.

 

Sitting on a panel session entitle “Bridging Visions for Sustainable Impact” ahead of team competition, Al-Arfaj (L2) reviewed the Aramco’s growing downstream presence over the past years and underscored the importance of partnerships in areas such as energy transition, resource management, and cutting-edge technological advancements.

Al-Arfaj noted, “For over 90 years, our spirit of exploration and innovation has led us on a journey to become one of the world’s top suppliers of reliable and affordable energy that powers progress across the world. We achieved that by pushing the limits, and now we are bringing that same spirit to sports and golf in particular.”

Representing Aramco, Al-Arfaj joined this year’s winners at the awards ceremony and presented the trophy to winning team captain Chiara Tamburlini, and he also participated in the official presentation of prize to Celine Boutier, champion of individual competition, on October 6.

He noted, “At Aramco, we believe sport provides a platform to create opportunity, improve lives and positively impact society. The Aramco Team Series aims to empower female athletes and promote gender equality in sport. The series continues to elevate women's golf globally, inspiring future generations of athletes."

Following a successful event in Hong Kong last year, the Shenzhen stop represented an opportunity for the tournament to continue to engage with a diverse array of spectators and showcase the elite of women’s golf.
